Our Beliefs

About the Bible

We believe the Bible to be written by normal everyday humans directly inspired by the Holy Spirit. Scripture is the authoritative and infallible word of God.
(1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)

About God

We believe in One, Triune God
The Father – Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth
The Son – He existed from the beginning, One with the Father. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary; crucified, He died for us but on the third day He rose again and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. It is through faith and faith in Christ alone that we are saved. In the end Christ will return to judge the world.
The Holy Spirit – He proceeds from the Father and the Son. He is the Giver of Life, alive and moving today. He is the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise to us to send a Helper.
(Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6; John 1:1; Acts 2:23-36; John 15:26; Romans 10:9-10

About Fallen Man’s Nature (Our Old Identity)

We believe that all of mankind beginning with Adam, has chosen “not God” and therefore chosen a path of death and destruction. Man can do nothing on his own to save himself from this destruction.
(Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Isaiah 64:6)

About Salvation

We believe that there is only one way to be saved: through faith in Christ alone and His atoning work on the cross for our sins. No amount of good deeds can add to this salvation nor can any bad deed detract from it. It is by grace through faith in Christ.
(Romans 10:9-10; John 3:14-17; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 17:3; Galatians 3:15-16)

About Our New Identity Through Christ

We believe that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation governed by the law of grace and righteousness. We are no longer defined by our old identity and its actions but by Christ’s identity-His righteousness, holiness, purity and so forth- and His sinless life.
(2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9; Romans 6:14)

About the Mission of the Body of Christ

Matthew 28:18 – We believe that the ministry of evangelism and discipleship is a responsibility of all Christ followers.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15)
